In a nut shell we can look back the journey of RCACD ------- - Rotary Club of Aerocity Dgp has got the Charter on 27th of Dec’2012 i.e. just less than 12 years back only. From the date of its inception our members engaged themselves in various social activities in the different 5 avenues of Services under the 7 stipulated focus areas of Rotary also keeping in mind the 4 pillars of rotary itself. For all of your kind information we also have a very good combination of senior & junior member as presidents from the very beginning and that is why so far we have got 5 presidents of below 45 yrs of age , other 4 are in between 45 to 55 yrs , rest 2 are above 60 yrs & the next two in the pipeline are also in the same combination of below 50 & above 60 yrs, I think it is enough to explain the balance of our ” TEAM AEROCITY “. Many of our members are in different District committees over the years, we have got RLI Faculties (2), we already have three Assistant Governors from our club & when the concept of ‘Duel Membership’ incorporated by Rotary International in the RY 17-18 – we have got the 1st ‘Duel member’ of the District 3240 from our own club, now we have two ‘Duel Members’ in our club. Almost more than 25% of our members are Paul Harish fellows, only 8% are Lady members ( we have to increase this no. as it is not at all satisfactory) & for your information 35% of our members are RLI graduates. we also have our‘academy’ in terms of one Rotaract club, 4 RCC’s with us……….. Actually they are the back bones of our club which made this club as one of the most Vibrant club of District 3240. Since inception we have done so many different community need based regular projects such as various Plantation programmes, Blood donation camps, Health check up & Eye operation camps, NID & Road safety awareness programmes, Distribution of Bed roles to ‘under privileged’ children under SCAW programme ect., apart from this we have also done so many other projects ( viz. supply of benches in schools, drinking water & toilet facilities in different schools, tricycle to the needy people, crematorium building/shades in an adjacent village etc.& so on) under different grants & from our own fund as well ……. for the sake of the surrounding society…..…..these lists are really endless, We also have ‘Happy Schools’ under the Literacy project, different ongoing vocational activities such as E-learning centre, Adult Literacy centre etc. It’s really a practice of our club to engage our members in different community need base activities as per the need of surrounding areas along with some sustainable projects. So far as hosting District events is concern - we have hosted different District events over the years such as District Assembly, District PR Seminar,1st RLI Graduation course level-I in the District (after a gap of more than 10 years), then again RLI graduation course, District intercity Foundation Seminar for Zone-I, II & III, District Award ceremony with DG installation programme, District New Generation Seminar etc. also as per future planning we are going to organize the DLS for RY 25-26( in the month of April’25 ) soon. Beside its sincere effort of Child Heart Operation which is popularly known as ‘Heart to Heart’ project, a Dist. 3240 Initiative, in this short span our club has taken two Land Mark Global Grant Projects, the first one is District’s 1 st Ear Institute at SAHAS in Durgapur as a ‘co-partner’ and then our dream Signature project of ‘Rotary Kidney Care Centre’ at Dreamland Nursing Home Durgapur as ‘main partner’, where still the dialysis is done in a very cheap rate so that even the poor people can avail the same. We are really proud to have such a Signature project which really helps the surrounding lesser privileged society a lot. We are also involved in so many other community development projects along with some other regular activities for the benefit of the society. By doing so our club has also got so many recognitions, awards, appreciations from District as well as Rotary International over the years. We believe in the mantra that ‘Institution is more than any individual” i.e. ‘unity is the strength’ This is the gist of “Team Aerocity”……thank you….
